The Winners of our 2015 Endangered Species Art Contest are :

Miguel Perez, for the 9-12 grade category, Picture of Araripe manakin, Critically Endangered.

Matthew Hislop, for the 6-8 grade category, Picture of Frog, One-third of the world’s amphibians are threatened or extinct.

Happy Mother’s day to all our dedicated wonderful mothers!

Did you know that African Elephants mother's boast the longest gestation period of any land animal ?

They carry their babis in their womb for about 660 days or 22 months.
The newborn elephant weighs about 230 pounds (105 kilograms)!

The Asian elephants are already endangered and the African Elephants are Vulnerable, all facing critical threats.

What is the connection between Batman and Endangered Species? 
So... Today is Batman Day (yes! not a joke) and this reminded us 
of an endangered species that usually doesn't receive much attention: Bats.

The bats are the only mammals that are capable of true flight. 
Almost 1,000 bat species can be found worldwide. In fact, bats make up a quarter of all mammal species in our world!
