All young artists from all ages are invited to participate! The contest theme is Saving Endangered Species. On May 15, 2015 we celebrate Endangered Species Day. We invite you to learn about endangered species, the threats they are facing and importance of conservation efforts to protect them. Young artist are encouraged to express their knowledge with their creativity and art skills. All contest entries must be submitted before May 1,2015, with a filled submission form, participation is free. Winners will be chosen from 5 categories: preschools - younger, k-2, 3-5, 6-8, 9-12. Winning artworks will participate in a special exhibition and receive a prize. |

Composition: How well the elements of line and form work together.
Color: How color enhances the artwork.
Expression: How imaginatively the work conveys an idea or emotion.
Ownership All submissions become property of SES. Through submission of artwork, entrants and their legal guardians grant reproduction and publication rights to the works submitted, which will not be returned. Though SES will attempt to treat all submitted work with the utmost care, the SES is not responsible for any damage or loss that may occur due to U.S. Postal Service handling.
- Each art work submitted must be submitted together with a submission form.
- Each participant can enter multiple times, but each entry requires a separate form for each art work submitted.
- Artwork should depict a threatened or endangered species.
- Artwork must be submitted by May 1, 2015. Late entries will not be judged.
- Submission may be done through participating school offices (advise each school for their submission date) or mailed directly to: Rinat Medalsy at Saving Endangered Species, 30 Bear Creek Drive, Buellton, CA 93427.
- All entries become the property of SES and will not be returned. We encourage you to copy artwork before submitting.

Artwork Guidelines
- Theme: Endangered Species. The artwork must depict a threatened or endangered species.
- Artwork must be the entrant’s original creation. Computer generated images and traced images will not be judged. However photographs /published images may be used as guides.
- No lettering, words, signatures, or initials may appear on the front of the artwork.
- Size: No size limit. Every size is acceptable.
- Medium: Every medium is acceptable.
- Matted, mounted, framed, laminated, or folded artwork will not be judged.
- Each entry must include a fully-completed artwork submission form. We recommend to TAPE the form to the back of the artwork, we recommend not to use paperclips, staples, or glue.
Submitting an Artwork
- All artwork can be mailed directly to: Rinat Medalsy at Saving Endangered Species, 30 Bear Creek Drive, Buellton, CA 93427.
- Artwork may also be submitted to participating schools, advise each school for their submission date.
- Write “DO NOT BEND” on the envelope.
- Postmark your entry by May 1, 2015. Late entries will not be judged.
- Each entry must include a fully-completed artwork submission form.
Judging and Prizes
- Winners will be chosen for five categories: preschools - younger, k-2, 3-5, 6-8, 9-12.
- Each winner will receive a prize and a special certificate.
- All winning artworks will participate in a special exhibition.
- Judging team will include: SES representative, exhibition host representative and local artists.
- All artworks will be judged according to these main criteria:
