Did you know that African Elephants mother's boast the longest gestation period of any land animal?

They carry their babies in their womb for about 660 days or 22 months.
The newborn elephant weighs about 230 pounds (105 kilograms)!

The Asian elephants are already endangered, and the African Elephants are Vulnerable, all facing critical threats. 

The elephants' populations are severely reducing their numbers because of several critical threats:


* Hunting


* Poaching 


* Habitat loss
