Teaching our kids about Polar Bears

Polar Bears are one of the vulnerable species of our planet. 
​Here are ten polar bear art and craft ideas to get your kids engaged.



The Polar Bear population faces many threats:  from climate changes threatening their sea ice habitat,
to pollution, poaching, and disturbances from industrial activities.
This is a great opportunity to teach our kids about polar bears and conservation!

Here are ten art and craft ideas we collected from different online resources, suitable for different age groups:

1. Textured rice /coconut flakes Polar Bear
Print a polar bear image and then give him some textured "fur". Spread some glue on the polar bear and then sprinkle either coconut flakes or rice over the glue and let dry.


2. Polar Bear Shoe box habitat model
Materials: Shoe box, painted bubble wrap, cotton wool


3. Texture puffy paint Polar bear
3D art with puffy paint.


4. Texture puffy paint Polar bear
Materials: Polar bear printable and homemade puffy paint.


5. Water color painting with add ons. 
Materials: watercolor, Assorted Blue Tissue Paper, Mod Podge, plastic cling wrap, salt.


6. Cotton wool Polar Bear 
Materials: Blue Paper, Sparkly snowflake sequins or stars, Cotton Wool, Polar Template.


7. Paper plate Polar Bear
Materials: paper plate and cotton wool.


8. Polar Bear painting with marshmallow
Materials: marshmallow, white tempura paint, foam.


9. White Chocolate Polar Bear Pretzel Pops
Materials: modeling chocolate, melted and tempered white chocolate, pretzel rods. 


10. Polar Bear silhouette
Materials: blue construction paper, Arctic animal template cutouts, White tempura paint, A toothbrush.
